PORT ALLEN, La (WVLA) -- Teens in high school are the most likely age group to be killed because of drunk driving.
State Police teamed up with schools in West Baton Rouge Parish today to help curb that trend.
High school students were shown graphic scenes from drunk driving accidents, and were then given the chance to simulate alchohol impairment.
These teens now know first hand the risks of driving drunk and how just a few drinks can make simple tasks impossible.
It's all part of the national 'Save A Life Tour,' and the program is having an effect on students here.
"We see it everyday when we are out working the streets," said LA State Trooper Markus Smith.
"We see these kids they get involved in these crashes killing themselves, killing a loved one, killling a best friend."
