Wintry temperatures return for the next nights in south Louisiana. Morning lows are expect to fall to near or below 32ºF tonight and tomorrow night.

The National Weather Service or NWS in New Orleans has issued a freeze warning for the Capital area from midnight through 8:00 a.m. Tuesday.

Louisiana parishes under tonight's Freeze Warning include: Ascension, East Baton Rouge, East Feliciana, Iberville, Livingston, Pointe Coupee, St. Helena, St. Tammany, Tangipahoa, Washington, West Baton Rouge and West Feliciana.

This means temperatures are expected to be near or below freezing for two to five hours overnight. Cover or bring-in your temperature sensitive plants. Vegitation that is not protected could die. Also, keep your pets in mind tonight. If you're cold, then they're likely to be cold, too.

Meteorologists at the NWS say, "An unseasonably cold airmass will continue to move into the central Gulf Coast region through Tuesday. Clear skies and diminishing winds tonight are expected to allow temperatures to drop to near freezing or below across areas north and west of Lake Pontchartrain into southern Mississippi."

Temperatures will near freezing again Wednesday morning, so look out for another, possible, freeze warning tomorrow.
