Louisiana (NBC33) — Heavy rains and flooding had an impact today in both East Baton Rouge and Livingston Parishes.
Central residents there saw water creeping closer to their front doors today.
The horses didn't seem to mind having so much fresh water, but as the storm gets worse, it's possible homes could see flooding.
There were also spots of fast-moving water along the sides of roads, with plenty of debris being washed downstream.
In Baton Rouge, much of the Gardere area was under water today as the rains fell. Ben Burge Park was filled with small lakes instead of children today.
No roads were closed in that neighborhood; some did have standing water, but not enough to strand any passing vehicles.
Street flooding is also a big problem in Livingston Parish.
Buddy Ellis Road was covered in water. Livingston Parish Sheriff's Deputies had to rescue people from their cars, and trucks could barely push through the water.
Officials say if you see any street flooding don't drive through the water, it could be deeper than you'd think.
