Piccadilly ready to feed stranded evacuees in Hurricane Seasons

BATON ROUGE, LA — Tom Sandeman, CEO and VP of Operations with Piccadilly came on BR Lagniappe to share about their community outreach after several hurricanes in La and Texas.
Sandeman said that Piccadilly currently has more than 80 restaurants and 77 food service operations in the Southeastern U.S. Their first Picadilly here in Baton Rouge started on 3rd Street .
Sandeman said that after Hurricane Katrina, Picadilly set up two centers - one in Metairie and the other in Slidell - serving over 100,000 people in the wake of the hurricane.
When hurricane Gustav hit, Picadilly helped out again, establishing 8 food centers which served 200,000 people.
In Texas, with Hurricane Ike, Picadilly Food Centers served 140,000 people.
Sandeman related that this food service is made possible through a contract with the State of Louisiana.
On Thursday, August 2 Picadilly will hold an open house at their Sherwood location as an informational meeting for area businesses and educational institutions.
