New Orleans, La (NBC33) — The city of New Orleans has been seeing nothing but rain and wind since early this morning.
Flash flooding, gusts of wind, and debris flew down the streets.
There are reports of over 450,000 people in the area with power outages.
New Orleans Police tell NBC33 that they are making sure no one is out on the streets – it’s too dangerous.
Authorities will begin assessing damage once Isaac gets out of the area. Power lines are still down. Entergy is telling New Orleans residents to be patient while they work to get everyone back up online.
Also, The Mercedes-Benz Superdome, a temporary shelter during Hurricane Katrina, lost power to a section of its outer spotlights.
