BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — A summer storm passing through the Baton Rouge area caused some serious flooding and power outages on Sunday, Aug. 5.
The afternoon system pushed through the area at around 3:00 p.m. The heavy rain was accompanied by roughly 900 lightning strikes in roughly 30 minutes. Entergy reported roughly 1600 customers lost power.
Surface streets suffered from the massive downpour. Flooding was reported throughout the city.
