Drought causing barges to run aground along upper Mississippi
St. Louis (KTVI) — River levels are so low, that barges are running aground and operators have been forced to lighten their loads. Bommarito Automotive SkyFox was over the Mississippi river Tuesday evening.
The river levels are extremely low right now.
Just one year ago the Mississippi River swelled to near-historic levels, flooding farms and homes from Illinois to Louisiana.
