BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — An early morning storm caused damage and knocked out power to many homes and businesses in south Louisiana. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported so far.
The worst of the system passed through our area beginning at roughly 4:00 a.m. High winds pushed down trees along Millerville Road in Tunica Hills and in various areas around Baton Rouge. Thousands are without power this morning as crews work to restore downed lines.
Faith Academy in Gonzales sustained serious damage to its roof. The school reportedly sustained damage during Hurricane Isaac as well.
Temperatures are expected to drop throughout the day with the lows dropping into 30’s overnight.
