The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory for our area from 10am-6pm today.  Here are the details from the NWS:

...STRONG WINDS EXPECTED TODAY...

.AS AN EARLY SPRING STORM SYSTEM STRENGTHENS OVER THE PLAINS...
WINDS OVER THE LOWER MISSISSIPPI VALLEY WILL BECOME QUITE STRONG.
SOUTH-SOUTHEAST WINDS WILL QUICKLY STRENGTHEN THIS MORNING WITH
SUSTAINED WINDS OF NEAR 25 MPH AND FREQUENT GUSTS OF 35 TO 40 MPH.

...WIND ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 10 AM THIS MORNING TO
6 PM CDT THIS EVENING...

* TIMING: STRONG SOUTH-SOUTHEAST WINDS WILL QUICKLY DEVELOP THIS
MORNING AND SUBSIDE LATER THIS AFTERNOON.

* WINDS: SUSTAINED WINDS OF 25 TO 30 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 40 MPH.

* IMPACTS: UNSECURED OBJECTS SUCH AS TRASH CANS MAY BE BLOWN
AROUND. DRIVING CONDITIONS MAY BE DIFFICULT FOR OPERATORS OF
HIGH PROFILE VEHICLES...ESPECIALLY ALONG EAST-WEST ORIENTED
HIGHWAYS. LARGE TREES WILL SWAY AND SOME TREE LIMBS MAY BE
BLOWN DOWN.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A WIND ADVISORY MEANS SUSTAINED WINDS 26 TO 39 MPH ARE EXPECTED.
WINDS THIS STRONG CAN MAKE DRIVING DIFFICULT...ESPECIALLY FOR
HIGH PROFILE VEHICLES. USE EXTRA CAUTION.
