The tropics are relatively quiet right now, with only Invest 90 still drifting to the west. I'm not writing off Invest 90 just yet, some models are actually starting to develop this system a bit more.  In fact, the National Hurricane Center is giving this system a 30% chance of formation over the next 48 hours.  The good news is, regardless of development this system could bring some beneficial rainfall to parts of Southern Texas, which is battling drought conditions much like we are.  We will continue to track it.

It is important not to become complacent during these inactive parts of the season.  Especially since we are about to enter the most active part of the hurricane season.  August and September are historically the two most active months when we are talking about storm formation and landfalls.  Just because the season seems dull, it is likely to ramp up quickly over the next few weeks.

We are always tracking the tropics here in the STORMTRACKER33 Weather Center, and we will keep you updated with up to the minute information as it becomes available. Also, you can follow us on Twitter and Facebook @STORMTRACKER33 for even more updates.
