Today's wild weather is being blamed for a house fire that destroyed a half a million dollar home in Baton Rouge.

Fire officials say lightning struck this house in the Santa Maria subdivision.
An adult and three children were home at the time but they weren't hurt.
St. george sent three engines and two ladder trucks to attempt to save the structure and prevent the fire's spread to neighboring homes.
