1:00 p.m. Tropical Storm Ernesto Update

BATON ROUGE, La. (NBC33) — As of this morning, Ernesto is a disorganized Tropical Storm with winds around 50 mph. He is forecast to stay a tropical storm as he takes a westward path across the Caribbean Sea. The Yucatan Peninsula and Central America will feel the brunt of Ernesto over the next 3 days. Then, he'll emerge into the Gulf of Mexico as a tropical storm and, possibly, redevelop into a hurricane before moving into Central Mexico. Tropical computer models also agree with a Central Mexico secondary landfall.
Tropical Storm Warnings are in effect for Jamaica.
Tropical Storm Watches are in effect for Grand Cayman and the coast of Honduras.
