The Mayor's Office is continuing its efforts to beautify Baton Rouge's neighborhoods. Operation Restore Pride has been out in the Valley Park since Monday sprucing up the community. So far, parish crews have painted over graffiti, cleaned up debris, and given fresh coats of paint to several homes in the area.
The Restore Pride program was started in 2006 by Mayor Kip Holden to hel the elderly, handicapped and others who may not be able to be more involved in the upkeep of their homes.
Four homes owned by elderly residents in the area were repainted. And those homeowners say the work the Parish crews are doing is a blessing.
