Duke was born in Jacksonville, FL, but moved to New Orleans at 3 years old. Growing up the in Crescent City inspired him to write poetry and prose at a very young age: Duke wrote his first book, "Treasure of Gold" at 14!

After High School, Duke went to the University of Florida ('Go Gators!') where he was involved in the college television station producing and editing entertainment segments.

Duke recently returned to Louisiana as a reporter for sister stations NBC33 News and Fox News Baton Rouge. You can see Duke Carter each night at 5 and 10pm on NBC33 and 9pm on FNBR.
