PORT ALLEN, LA (WVLA) -- Have you ever had to go to the bathroom while traveling, but rest stops and gas station public restrooms just didn't cut it?

Well, one gas station owner says, he will change your mind.

His bathrooms in Port Allen aren't only clean, but lavish, and he's betting you're willing to pay for the fancy furnishings.

It's called "Suite Relief."

The private bathrooms opened this week at the Chevron station off the Lobdell exit in Port Allen.

The luxurious latrines are staffed by a manager and a full service maid.

For $5, folks can take advantage of one of the four suites available.

Ammenities include granite counter tops, personal soap bars and a full length mirror.

Each room is cleaned after every use.

Managers say that's what keeps people coming back.

Truckstops feature bathroom suites, but with showers included-already helping improve the concept. It would also be nice to have an armoire and a drawer chest, so clothing won't get wet or damp. All in all a great alternative to the typical"pit stop" style rest room. This will come in handy for people needing to change their clothes on the way to and from job interviews.

Greatttttt! We happened to stop in and our boys used a 'suite'! What a concept!!! Telling all our friends about it! Great story coverage too!

WOW great idea. I see this being a national success story. Traveling across the country with grandkids is hard enough with dirty bathroom stops. I travel alone quite often and safety issues or always on my mind --- not anymore with this kind of service. I frequently take this route between N.O. and Houston -- so I will be stopping by myself soon.
