NEW ORLEANS (AP) - The University of New Orleans campus police chief was injured in a scuffle with students who refused to leave the administration building after a campus protest against deep budget cuts.
UNO spokesman Adam Norris says two people were arrested.
He said he believed they were students but did not have their names.
Norris said Police Chief Tim Harrington injured an ankle in the scuffle.
Earlier Wednesday, about eight students barricaded themselves in a classroom building for about two hours.
They led an outdoor rally, then went to the administration building where more than 100 students clogged the halls.
UNO and other universities are facing sharp reductions in state funding. The university has about 8,600 undergraduates.
