Two juveniles arrested for property damage

On July 10, 2012 Detectives with the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office Bureau Of investigations Directed Patrol Unit arrested two Juveniles (Ages 12 & 13) on charges of attempted burglary of a business and simple criminal damage to property.

Detectives with the Directed Patrol Unit were conducting surveillance in the area of EJ’s Easy Shop on Avery Island Road when they observed two juveniles attempting to break into the business. The two suspects fled on foot and were able to evade deputies. Later, detectives were able to identify the two juveniles.

Both were charged with attempted burglary and simple criminal damage to property. Both juveniles were released on a summons into the custody of their parents. Sheriff Louis Ackal would ask the public if anyone observes juveniles out past their curfew to please contact the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office at (337) 369-3711. Calls will be followed up by deputies in order help prevent crime before it happens.
