FBI Agents made a surprise visit to Port Allen City Hall Monday. They served warrents and subpoenas to Mayor Derek Lewis and spent over an hour questioning him. There isn't much Mayor Lewis can say about the investigation - the FBI told him to keep quiet - but he was able to tell NBC 33 News that the Feds are focusing on a relationship the city has with a business.

Mayor Lewis said "they want to see my involvement and the city's involvement with a particular company."

The name of that company has not been released.

Agents also searched Port Allen Police Cheif, Fred Smith's office, computer and files. He was home at the time, but says he is continuing working as normal today.

These city leaders are not alone. Three to four other municipalities are also involved in the probe.

The FBI Bureau in New Orleans confirmed that they were in Port Allen and White Castle yesterday, but refused to speak further.

After the search, Mayor Lewis said Agents left with just one thing.

"They did not seize my computer, they went through my computer, they went through all my records, the only thing they seized was my yearly planners," said Mayor Lewis.

Chief Smith and Mayor Lewis say they didn't do anything wrong. Parish President "Pee-Wee" Berthelot says, he is standing behind them, saying "it kind of puts a cloud over the parish, but I know that the Mayor's an honorable guy and he's been really good for the city of Port Allen, so I just wish him luck."
