Andy Cannizaro, a New York Yankees scout for the past five years and a former MLB infielder, has been hired as the recruiting coordinator and hitting coach for the LSU baseball program, coach Paul Mainieri announced Monday.
Coach Paul Mainieri announced on Monday LSU’s incoming signing class, rated the No. 1 class in the nation by Perfect Game. Eight of the 12 new players enrolled at LSU last month, and the remaining four will join the Tigers in August.
The Tigers took their turn on Wednesday.

The Southland Conference Television Network and ESPN3 will feature 15 exclusive broadcasts of all 11 Southland football teams in 2014, including four games featuring defending conference champion Southeastern Louisiana.
They say hard work pays off in the long run. Well, that fit's former UL baseball player Jonathan Lucroy just right. Tomorrow night for the major league All-Star Game, Lucroy will be the starting catcher for the National Leauge.
After having one of the best seasons by a freshman kicker in LSU history, sophomore Colby Delahoussaye was one of 30 players named to the 2014 Lou Groza Collegiate Place-Kicker Award Watch List, the Palm Beach County Sports Commission announced
