The Southern football team will be without 4.63 scholarships this coming season.

The Jags posted a 909 academic progress rate or APR score. The team failed to satisfy the conditions of an approved waiver from last academic year.

However, it's an improvement from the 899 mark Stump Mitchell's squad posted in the 2009-2010 year; Jaguar athletics overall appear to be heading in the right direction in the classroom.

Of the seven teams penalized a year ago for not reaching the 900 benchmark, five of them showed improvement, including the baseball , football and men's basketball teams, who all made a ten-point increase.

Women's indoor track score went up by 26, and women's outdoor track moved up their score by 14 points.
