Southern Jaguars hit the road for Houston
BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — Today was a busy day for the Southern Jaguars. The team started Thursday with practice at 5:30 a.m., then hit the road for Houston a few hours later.
Seniors such as quarterback Dray Joseph and cornerback Virgil Williams know it's their last season in college and want to make the most of it. It all starts with the Houston Cougars in just about 24-hours in Reliant Stadium.
It's a game that nobody is giving the Jags a chance.
"Nobody expects us to win but us - you go in with that mentality,” Joseph said. “You go into the game where you have nothing to lose, so why not go out and play your best. Everyone is expecting you to lose, so there is no pressure upon you."
Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 30. Join us for NBC33 News at 5:00 and 6:30 for live reports from Houston.
