Today Southern University announced six finalists for the football program’s head coaching position.

Among that group is interim head coach Dawson Odums, who took over the reigns for Stump Mitchell. Mitchell was fired earlier this season. Under his Odums’ lead, the jags had 4 wins and 5 losses including a win in the Bayou Classic over arch-rival Grambling.

The other names in the mix include Bethune Cookman, Head Coach Brian Jenkins, former LSU and Tulane Assistant Coach John Hendrick and James Spacy, who formerly worked at Grambling, but is now part of the Nevada staff.

Broussard expects to present his choice for Southern's next head coach at a December 14 Board of Supervisors meeting
