Jags basketball team returns home to a hero's welcome

Fans of the Southern Jags men's basketball team gathered to welcome their heroes back home today.

The men's basketball team went up against the number one seed Gonzaga Bulldogs.

The team lost in an extremely close game, but the Jags never gave up; fans say it was an amazing game to watch.

The welcoming crowd shouted and waved signs to make sure the team knew that the fans are still behind them.

"We did a good job, and I'm proud of our guys,” said Assistant Head Coach Ryan Price. “They showed a lot of toughness and a lot of commitment."

“It was epic - everybody was so hyped for the game. We are really proud of our Jaguars,” stated student Marlisha Hollis. “We are ready for next season, because we aer going to come back and do it again."

Thursday night was the second time in 20 years the Jags made it to the Big Dance.
