NEW ORLEANS (WVLA) - The Southern Jaguars ended their season on six game losing streak Saturday. The Jags fell to Grambling State 38-17 in the 37th annual Bayou Classic.

With the win over Southern (2-9) the Tigers (9-2) now hold a 19-18 advantage in the annual showdown.

Southern took an early 3-0 lead after Grambling State muffed a punt deep in their own territory. But The Tigers would answer with a touchdown by running back Frank Warren and the Tigers would never look back.

In the second quarter, Grambling State defensive lineman Jomarcus Savage would intercept a Southern pass and return it 17 yards for a touchdown.

The Jaguars would score their first touchdown just seconds before the half to cut the lead to 24-10. The next Southern score would not come until just over a minute to play in the forth quarter when the game was out of reach.

The Jags have now lost three consecutive Bayou Classics.
