Southeastern reports for fall camp on Tuesday

HAMMOND, La — Southeastern Louisiana University football coach Mike Lucas welcomes 95 players to campus on Tuesday when the Lions report for fall camp in preparation for the 2011 season.
The Lions, which returns 11 starters and 37 letterwinners, will hold their first team meeting at 4 p.m. before dinner and an NCAA meeting at 7 p.m. Southeastern will go through position and team meetings on Wednesday before holding its annual conditioning test at 6 p.m.
Southeastern will hit the practice field for the first time on Thursday with a 6 a.m. workout in helmets. The Lions will hold their annual Media Day on Saturday (Aug. 6) and will open two-a-days on Aug. 9.
Southeastern opens its season on Sept. 3 against Tulane in the Louisiana Superdome. The game will mark the second consecutive year the teams have met and the fourth time since 2005.
The Lions will open their five-game home schedule on Sept. 10 against Division I opponent Savannah State before facing Southern Miss on Sept. 17 and McNeese State in the Southland Conference opener for both teams on Sept. 24.
