NBC NATIONAL NEWS — New Orleans Saints Linebacker Jonathan Vilma headed to federal court in hopes of having his year-long NFL suspension overturned, but today's settlement conference ended with no resolution.
Now, Vilma is hoping a judge will grant a temporary restraining order on Thursday to prevent the NFL from enforcing his suspension.
You may remember, Vilma and three other current and former Saints players were suspended back in March.
They're accused of being leaders in a so-called bounty program that paid players for hurting athletes on opposing teams and knocking them out of games.
The league also suspended three coaches and the Saints general manager for at least part of this season.
