NEW ORLEANS, La (NBC33) — The Times-Picayune is reporting that the Saints has offered Drew Brees a contract worth over $19 million a year. If Brees signs the papers, that would make him the highest paid player ever in the NFL.

The two sides have a week to get a long-term deal complete, or Brees would be forced to play under a one-year contract worth just over $16 million.
