In the latest bout of Internet hoaxes, rumors spread like wildfire based on a phony story that Saints quarterback Drew Brees broke his legs in a car accident Friday.

Don't worry. It's fake.

Brees made an announcement on Twitter Friday afternoon that he's not sure where the story started, but he wasn't injured in any car accident.

"I am fine. Not sure where the car accident story came from. It is not true. I appreciate everyone’s concern but I am ALL GOOD!" his post on Twitter said.

The Saints' first game is against the Atlanta Falcons on Sept. 8.
