Report: Two Southern athletic programs banned from postseason

BATON ROUGE (NBC33) - — Southern is one of six BCS schools facing academic penalties from the NCAA. Reports say that the Southern University men's basketball and football teams will recieve a postseason ban due to low APR scores.
Academic Progress Rate or APR is a way for the NCAA to indicate the success of college athletic teams in moving student athletes towards graduation.
The results cover the academic years of 2006-07 through 2009-10.
