BATON ROUGE -- LSU cornerback Patrick Peterson was named to the Associated Press All-America First Team on Tuesday, while defensive tackle Drake Nevis was on the second team.

Peterson, who received the Thorpe and Bednarik Awards this past week, became the school's 56th first-teamer.

A total of 19 Southeastern Conference players were among the 75 honored by the AP.
