As a new era in New Orleans basketball begins, the New Orleans Pelicans will host the Indiana Pacers in their first regular-season game of the 2013-14 season on Wednesday, Oct. 30 at 7:00 p.m.

All fans will receive a 2013-14 Pelicans schedule magnet courtesy of Fox Sports New Orleans.

The Pelicans will unveil their mascot at the season opener and the game will feature performances by the Pelicans Dance Team, as well as the Senior Dance Team. The Voice Season 3 runner-up Terry McDermott will sing the National Anthem and, at halftime, fans will enjoy a performance by New Orleans’ own Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, who recently released his third album, Say That To Say This.

Prior to the game, fans will enjoy the Pelicans Fest pre-game party beginning at 5:00 p.m. The pre-game festivities will include live music by the Bucktown All-Stars and interactive games for the whole family.

“We couldn’t be more thrilled that Opening Night just two days away–this is an exciting time for sports fans in New Orleans,” said Pelicans Owner/Chairman of the Board Tom Benson. “This has been an eventful off-season with new players on our team, a new practice facility and with the renovation of the New Orleans Arena. The start of the season is finally here and there is a lot of excitement planned for Opening Night – we hope fans enjoy being a part of this special night as the Pelicans era truly begins.”

The Pelicans will also host the Charlotte Bobcats in their opening week on Saturday, Nov. 2 at 7:00 p.m. Packages for Friends & Family Night presented by Pepsi are available for as low as $128 and include four tickets, four hot dogs, four bags of chips and four Pepsis.

Tickets for the game are available at Pelicans.com or by calling 504.525.HOOP.
