Hornets select Darius Miller with the 46th pick in the NBA Draft
NEW ORLEANS, LA — With the 46th pick in the 2012 NBA Draft, the Hornets selected guard Darius Miller from the University of Kentucky. Miller joins college teammate Anthony Davis (selected 1st overall earlier in the evening) on the New Orleans roster.
Miller (6-8, 225) was the 2012 SEC Sixth-Man of the Year, helping Kentucky to the national title in New Orleans while posting averages of 9.9 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.1 assists in 26.1 minutes per game. The four-year collegian holds the Kentucky record for most games played (152) and is 10th all-time with 175 three-point field goals made.
During his junior season in 2010-11, the Maysville, Ky. native started 37 of 38 games, averaging a career-best 10.9 points per game while shooting 44.3% from distance.
Miller joins Davis and Austin Rivers (selected 10th overall) as 2012 Hornet selectees. The last time the Hornets had three picks in the same draft was in 2006 (12th, 15th and 43rd).
