Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel held his first televised news conference Tuesday.  The freshman set an SEC single season record for total offense with 3,419 passing yards and 1,181 rushing yards on the season.

The eye-popping stats have “Johnny Football” a Heisman trophy frontrunner.

"It's so surreal for me to be even mentioned in the same category and the same sentence as the Heisman Trophy. It's a dream come true. It would be a dream come true for me to even be able to go to New York and sit down. Now that all this (Heisman) talk is swirling around, it (winning) is definitely something I guess you have to prepare for, like I said, it would be a dream come true to even go to the Heisman Ceremony much less say a speech," Manziel said.

The Aggie football program has a policy prohibiting freshman from talking to the media.

"I don't really see myself as the 'Johnny Football' craze has kind of swept Aggie-land and swept around the nation a little bit. I see myself as Johnny Manziel, a guy from Kerrville, Texas, who just tries to be a laid-back guy who likes to hang out with my friends and be a normal college student just like anybody else," Manziel said.

The 19-year old turns 20 on December 6th.
