The LSU baseball team is back in Baton Rouge today after their run at the program’s seventh national title fell short on Tuesday.

The record setting season from the Tigers ends on a sour note after losing two straight games at the College World Series. The LSU offense scored just 3 runs in 2 games; it’s the second lowest run total in CWS history.

Head Coach Paul Mainieri knows this bitter ending will hurt for some time.

"They are champions. We won several championships this year, but we didn’t win the big one,” stated Mainieri. “We went two and out and we are going to have to deal with that

It's just the third time in LSU history that the tigers went 0-2 in the CWS.
