The LSU defense had a season high for sacks (4), tackles for loss (8), and quarterback hurries (4) in Saturday’s win over Florida.

“A lot of guys took the leash off went full speed and made a lot of plays,” sophomore Jalen Mills noted.

Now the challenge for John Chavis’ unit is to that against Ole Miss in Oxford. That transition may not be too easy. The Rebels have a more spread oriented attack on offense led by dual threat quarterback in Bo Wallace. Wallace, a junior, has thrown nine touchdowns and just three interceptions on the year. He’s rushed for three touchdowns, too.

They also have several weapons like running back Jeff Scott and wide receiver Laquon Treadwell that can hurt you in the open field.

“We don't look at the records. When you watch the film you can see they have an explosive offense. They can score in a heartbeat. So we’re trying to make sure we stop the big plays and don't let them get up and down the field in us,” defensive tackle Ego Ferguson said.

Ole Miss won their first three games of the season but have lost the last three to drop their record to 3-3 overall and 1-3 in the SEC.

LSU holds the 58-39-4 advantage in the series over the Rebels.

Kickoff for Saturday’s game is scheduled for 6 p.m. in Vaught-Hemmingway Stadium in Oxford Mississippi.
