Jefferson is the younger brother of former LSU quarterback Jordan Jefferson. Rickey Jefferson’s attorney, Lance Unglesby, tell NBC33 News his client will be subjected to random drug testing and will have to complete 40 hours of community service.

Unglesby also released the following statement to NBC33 News: “Rickey appreciates the opportunity to get this all behind him and is thankful to the Sherriff and District Attorney. Louisiana is going to get to know Rickey over the years to come, and I can tell you there is something special about him. I look forward to watching people getting to know him like I have and beyond the headline of this story.”

According to LSU head coach Les Miles; Jefferson is expected to see significant playing time this season as a freshman.
