Baton Rouge, La (NBC33) — The report cards are out for college athletics and for the most part our local universities passed with flying colors.
At Southern, the men's indoor and outdoor track and field teams face penalties. They'll lose practice time and have to replace it with hours spent in study hall.
Despite reports that said the Jags men's basketball team would be banned from postseason for a low score, Coach Roman Banks and his team are still eligible.
At LSU, all 20 sports teams passed the academic progress rate (APR).
This year's report is for the four-year period beginning in the fall of 2008.
Special congratulations go out to the LSU women's cross-country team; they posted a perfect score of 1,000 for the fourth straight year.
