For at least the third time while the head coach at LSU, Les Miles publicly turned down a lucrative offer from another university.

Today, Miles announced he will remain the head coach at LSU. Officials say Miles will receive an increase in salary and a contract extension following LSU’s bowl appearance this year.

Details of the contract changes are still in the negotiation process and will be announced at a later date, and are subject to approval of the LSU Board of Supervisors.

“Les Miles is one of the premier coaches in the country and has LSU in contention for championships year in and year out,” Alleva said. “Only two coaches in the 119-year history of LSU football have coached as many years at this school and only one has won more games. Les Miles has made a commitment to LSU and LSU is solidifying its commitment to Les Miles.”

Miles will discussed the offer and how he plans to move forward with the Tigers. NBC33’s Matt Boudreaux is following that story. You can also keep up with the latest by following Matt Boudreaux on Twitter.
