LSU's campus filled up with Tiger fans Saturday for the Baton Rouge weekend tradition of tailgating, but this weekend something was off.

"Slight disadvantage is that it's raining. Major advantage is everyone here is a die hard. Everyone here is having a good time. Everyone is  having a blast," Justin Neilson, LSU fan, described.

The rain never stopped the LSU crowd from dancing and having fun.

"I thought it was going to be pretty slow, but actually it's been great," Todd Mashburn, LSU fans, said.

Tailgates added extra tents. Lots of ladies dawned rain boots. Others put on ponchos just to keep the party going.

"When you get a little mud on your feet it's great. It's more fun the more the merrier," Mashburn exclaimed.

When a poncho didn't work some fans tried to make new friends to get dry.

"When it's raining you got strangers coming in (your tent) asking  for cover. You get to meet new people it's a blast," Neilson described.

Even the band enjoyed the rain. As the water started coming down the Golden Band from Tigerland picked up their instruments and put on a show. People slowed down to listen and enjoy the music in the drizzling rain.

Die hard fans said no matter what they are going to show off their purple and gold pride every Saturday.

"I feel like the top half (of fans) would be here rain shine thunder storms snow storm," Neilson said. "Whatever, we'll be here. "
