LSU rolls past Idaho, 63-14
BATON ROUGE, LA — On a record breaking night LSU improved to 3-0 overall after downing Idaho 63-14. The win broke an NCAA record with 40 straight non-conference opponents in Tiger Stadium and a school record 20th consecutive victory at home.
LSU quarterback Zach Mettenberger completed 17 of his 22 passes for 222 yards and two touchdowns. On the ground the Tigers rushed for over 200 yards and scored five touchdowns. Running back Jeremy Hill made is LSU debut with 61 yards on 10 carries and two scores.
The LSU defense provided a boost with two interceptions (Ronald Martin and Lavar Edwards) that were returned for touchdowns.
The Tigers now hit the road for their first SEC game Saturday against Auburn.
