The LSU baseball team is en route to Columbia, South Carolina for their last regular season series. The Tigers and Gamecocks are set to battle in a three-game series starting on Thursday.

The Tigers are in the mix for an SEC championship, trailing both South Carolina and Kentucky.

There's not just conference implications on the line - LSU is fighting tooth and nail for a national seed for the upcoming NCAA tournament.

South Carolina, the recent power house in college baseball, has won the past two College World Series. The Gamecocks started slow this year, but have caught fire as of late, winning 15 of their last 17 conference games.

The two teams have a lot to play for entering the last weekend of the season.

The Tigers say regardless of the schedule makers saving perhaps the best for last, there's no margin for error.

The Tigers will be without their third-best hitter, batting average wise, Ty Ross, who had surgery on Saturday.

The series starts on Thursday, as opposed the normal Friday night slot. First pitch is set for 6:00 p.m.
