LSU fans indifferent about potential bowl destinations
BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — There was still hope for a BCS bowl bid following LSU’s 20-13 win over Arkansas Friday. Monday all hope was lost.
“I think they did a pretty good job this season. Other people were expecting a lot more so they may be a little disappointed,” said LSU student Peyton Aubin.
What LSU needed to happen did not. Now the team will have to leave it in the hands of bowl committees. The likely places the teams could end up are the Cotton, Capital One, Chick-Fil-A and Outback bowls.
“Obviously the BCS bowl game is the big preference but if it’s not that, it doesn’t even matter to me.” Aubin said.
Other LSU students are also neutral.
“The actual bowl game doesn't matter to me. It's the opponent that does. Sometimes they throw a mismatch in there just because of the scheduling. If it’s two comparable teams then I don’t have a problem where they go,” said Bradley Thibodeaux.
“It doesn't matter. They should handle their business,” added London Sylvester.
At this point it seems the aforementioned bowl games are none more appealing to the other to Tiger fans. Coach Les Miles and company can only sit back, rest, wait and gear up for the 13th straight postseason appearance for the program.
"We are going to get players back we are going to be healthier. It's a team that will play to their ability much more given some time.” Miles said following the Arkansas game.
LSU will learn where they are headed and who they will face Sunday.
