Nothing has gone according to plan for LSU head coach Paul Mainieri in the NCAA tournament. But his Tiger baseball team continues to find a way to get the job done.

The LSU knocked of Sam Houston State Saturday night to advance to the finals of the Baton Rouge NCAA Regional.

LSU will face the winner of ULL-SHSU Sunday at 7 p.m.

The Cajuns and Bearkats play at 2 p.m. in an elimination game at Alex Box Stadium-Skip Bertman Field.

LSU fell behind Sam Houston State 5-1 in the first inning but rallied by scoring seven unanswered runs to finish the game. It was the largest crowd (10,752) to ever watch a game in Alex Box Stadium history.
