Grand Opening: LSU Softball Team Beats McNeese State

The nation's 21st ranked LSU softball team christened the new Tiger Park with a 6-0 victory over McNeese State Wednesday in front of a school-record 2,172 fans.
"First, I want to thank the tremendous crowd that came out here this evening," head coach Yvette Girouard said. "The kids were very nervous and they didn't look like they were very focused. We had some great things go our way and we pulled through."
LSU's Jazz Jackson drove in Kirsten Shortridge in the third inning to plate the first run in the new park. The Tigers (4-2) struck for five runs in the fifth inning capatilizing on two McNeese State (0-6) errors and five passed balls in the frame.
