LSU and Florida have won four of the last ten BCS National Championships in college football. They’ve split the last eight meetings on the field (4-4). But, the intense annual rivalry could be off the schedule soon if the two programs get it their way.

Like it or not, the two squads will play each other every year through the 2015 season. In 2003, Florida will travel to Baton Rouge. If the game resembles any of the others in recent memory it will more than likely be another hard-fought contest.

“I love those types of games. They are fun to watch. They are physical, tough, it’s running game and it’s not for the faint of heart,” said Florida head coach Will Muschamp.

“Going to Baton Rouge is a special place. Being an assistant there I’ve had a lot of great nights in Tiger Stadium. It’s a place that I have tremendous respect for,” the former LSU assistant coach added.

Florida junior quarterback Jeff Driskel says he’s excited for his first game action inside Tiger Stadium this fall, “It will be a great, physical game.” Florida finished the 2012 campaign with an 11-2 record. It was a huge improvement from Muschamp’s first season in Gainesville when the Gators went 7-6. Driskel returns after starting 12 games in 2012. He threw 12 touchdowns and five interceptions. “It’s awesome to play them every year,” he said of LSU. As a true freshman Driskel made the trip to Baton Rouge with the Gators but didn’t play.

SEC Media Days continue Wednesday. Texas A&M, Kentucky, Mississippi State, Tennessee, Auburn and Arkansas will go through the cycle.
