LSU followed the lead of its two All-Americans in a 10-0 rout of Purdue in the first game of a three-game series.

Aaron Nola pitched one of the best games of his career for the Tigers (11-2). Nola (4-0) threw 8.0 innings and yielded just two hits while striking out a career-high 12 batters. His ERA remained at 0.00.

Alex Bregman led the offensive onslaught for LSU. He went 3-4 at the plate and drove in four runners. He did most of his damage in the third inning, when he hit a three-run home run to left field that gave LSU a 4-0 lead.

Game two between the Tigers and Boilermakers is Saturday at 6:00 p.m. at Alex Box Stadium.
