Boston Celtics Forward and LSU standout Brandon Bass will host a series of basketball camps for boys and girls in the Baton Rouge, Morganza, and Port Allen areas, as well as a back to school giveaway and fun day in the park in Baton Rouge.

The Brandon Bass Reach Back Foundation will host the basketball camps from August 1-3 at various locations followed by the community event on August 3 at the BREC Progress Park.

Each basketball camp is free and open to a limited number of kids. The foundation will provide each participant with tools to be become a better player, as well as encourage a deeper respect for the game of basketball. Kids will also receive a camp T-shirt and personal photograph of Bass.

Bass said, “It is a blessing to provide these young kids with the opportunity to learn not only basketball skills, but also life skills.”

Saturday’s camp will be followed by a back to school giveaway at the BREC Progress Park starting at 3pm. Guests can look forward to book bags full of school essentials, inflatables, music, snowballs and food.

Bass said, “I have been surrounded by great people and this is my chance to come back where I was raised and pass on the tools that I have learned along the way.”

The Brandon Bass Reach Back Foundation, a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization, was founded in 2008. The mission of the Brandon Bass Reach Back Foundation is to provide a diverse range of programs and activities designed to encourage and enhance the lives of underprivileged youth in disadvantaged communities. The mission is supported by donations from individuals, corporations, grants, and fundraising.
