Student-athlete Tyrone Duplessis passed away, cause of death unknown

RUSTON, LA — Louisiana Tech officials confirmed that student-athlete Tyrone Duplessis, a running back on the football team, passed away early this morning at his off-campus apartment in Ruston.
The cause of death is currently unknown at this time.
Duplessis, 21, was in his third year as a student-athlete at Louisiana Tech. He was a native of New Orleans.
Grief counselors will be made available to the team through the University.
