BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) - — The LSU football season just got a little bit better. Top ranked high school quarterback prospect Gunner Kiel announced his plans to go to college at LSU Tuesday afternoon.  Kiel picked LSU over Notre Dame and Vanderbilt.  Kiel, a Columbus, Indiana native, is listed at 6’4, 220 lbs.

Kiel is the 22nd member of the 2012 recruiting class.

LSU will head into the 2012 season with a stable of quarterbacks including Zach Mettenberger, Stephen Rivers, Jerrard Randall and now Gunner Kiel.
