Coach Trent Johnson addressed the media Thursday with news he'd rather not have to give. He announced Johnny O'Bryant III fractured his hand in practice Wednesday in a 5-on-0 drill when he hit the rim going for a rebound. O'Bryant is scheduled to have surgery tonight to stabilize the fracture side and is out indefinitely.

“I am assuming everyone already got the medical report. I really feel for Johnny (O’Bryant III). He was really starting to practice and really starting to play better," Johnson said.

Following that statement there was more bad news. "Malcolm White will not be with us Saturday due to the death of this grandmother. The funeral and memorial services will be Saturday. He is going to practice today," the Tigers head coach said.

LSU opens SEC play on Saturday when they host Ole Miss.
